Through my internship with Rotary of Elizabeth Quay, I had the opportunity to attend the High Energy Social Squad Summit in August that focused on the ways in which we can build purposeful relationships and closely held friendships within Rotary through the use of sharing stories, creating a sense of belonging.
Members shared their stories during the summit and I was given the opportunity to share a story about Belonging on behalf of someone, which helped get me out of my comfort zone and speak in-front of a crowd.
The members of the club made me feel really comfortable and excited to participate-even though public speaking isn’t a strong point of mine. During the summit I was able to actively listen to how each member feels a sense of belonging within the club, which also furthered my sense of belonging.
