Youth Service
With the help of our wonderfully generous guests, we were able to raise $1,533 for Save the Children and $170 towards our club funds to keep RotaryEQ running. Every dollar spent will make a real difference in the community, so thank you to everyone who attended!
Whilst on a break ‘in between jobs’, I decided to catch up with David Reed who has been part of the Rotary family for 47 years and counting. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Perth and a Past President for both the Rotary Clubs of Perth and Kalgoorlie. He has won every Rotary accolade and award under the sun, including the Service Above Self Award that has only been awarded to 150 people.
Rotary Elizabeth Quay has embraced a number of cycling events; from social cycling gatherings around the river, to some of us cycling in the 120km MSWA charity ride. And then there is our ongoing collaboration with Dismantle, a leading social enterprise in Perth, which uses hands-on activities to connect with and mentor at-risk youth to enable them to become valued and valuable members of society.
