Dr Andrew Lu
What's your favourite word and why? Creative, because the best response is a creative response.
What's the most interesting thing that has happened to you recently? I have fallen in love with working from home.
Tell us your Rotary origin story, how did you join and why? My friend James McLeod is a committed Rotarian. We, together with others, helped to create and charter REQ. I'm pretty sure I first suggested the name! It started as a series of meetings in my office, over lunch with James, and at the offices of other members of the working group who also became charter members. As younger professionals, it's important to break out of our industry silos. A club like REQ is a great vehicle to channel our diverse experiences and perspectives towards doing some good with like-minded folks.
What is your idea of fun? A lazy day hopping between art museums, with a long delicious lunch.
What is something you loathe to do (but still do) and why? Using my credit card, but I still do it for the frequent flyer points (not that they will be of any use to me for the next little while).
If your life we summed up by a quote what would it be and why? We are not nouns, we are verbs. I am not a thing.... I am a person who does things (Stephen Fry)
How do you relax? A quiet corner, a good book, and some gentle music.
What is your most valuable skill set? I am a pessimistic perfectionist, which helps me to be a good lawyer.
What habit or improvement are you working on? Learning how to say no.
What's your favourite word and why? Creative, because the best response is a creative response.
