Humans are part of the natural ecosystem and as such our mental well-being is linked to everything in that ecosystem, especially to the health of the land. On Saturday 24 September, RotaryEQ will be practising ecosystem mental health care by weeding and preparing the site for plants to go in the ground of the conservation area of Booragoon Lake in partnership with Wirambi Landcare. Pulling out the invasive weeds which threaten our native flora can be a very therapeutic exercise, and some even use it as metaphorical experience for casting away intrusive thoughts.
Time: The event begins at 9am, tools down at 12pm for lunch, finishing at 1pm or whenever volunteers would like to hang around and chat with us for.
Location: At the Booragoon Lake. Exact location in the woodland will be provided to registered participants closer to the date.
