About this Event

When Rotary launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative more than three decades ago, polio paralyzed 1,000 children each day. Since 1988 cases of polio have dropped from 350,000 in 125 countries to 33 cases of wild polio virus in just 2: Afghanistan and Pakistan.

With polio nearly eradicated Rotary is working hard to ensure every child receives the polio vaccine. This effort requires funding as much as political commitment. Rotary International pledges US$50 million annually to the End Polio campaign, an amount that is matched 2-1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, bringing the total to $150 million funds raised each year.

This year Perth commuters have the chance to support the End Polio campaign in one of the following ways;
